So Jenny can you give us a quick introduction about yourself?
My name is Jenny and believe it or not, but I’ve took my first plane at the age of 25. I’ve been traveling for years with friends. We have visited 11 countries in Europe by car. Last year my husband and I decided to celebrate our honeymoon around the world. Places we visited included: Australia, New Zealand, French Polynesia and the
I enjoyed that backpacking trip so much that I wanted to share my experiences on Instagram.
Where are you in the world currently?
I am currently in Germany, because it’s time for carnival and I don’t want to miss this famous tradition of dressing up oneself.
Where do you plan to get to this year?
Next month I’m going to Austria for a skiing trip. I can’t wait to enjoy the winter wonderland and the breathtaking view of the mountain tops.
We also plan to go camping with friends in Croatia this summer, it’s really nice there especially the beautiful beaches and small islands. The view of the Adriatic Sea never ceases to impress me.
At the end of the year I would love to escape from the German winter and visit Asia: Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia. I want to go boating and discover all those beautiful islands and secret beaches.
What has been your all time favorite place?
Australia remains my favorite destination of travel. I was impressed by the famous sights of Sydney, especially the beaches along the coastal walk from Bondi to Coogee. Only a few kilometers outside the
city we saw kangaroos and koalas in the wild.
I still keep all the friendly people in good memory and honestly if I had the choice I would move there tomorrow.
Could you share us your all time favorite photo you have taken travelling?
This photo was taken in the lagoon of Moorea (French Polynesia). We were snorkeling with sharks and stingrays. It was an incredible moment of feeling free among the wildlife.
What is your top backpacking tip?
My ideal backpacking trip is to keep an open-mind, heart and soul to engage in the culture and the people of the new country. Take my time and be spontaneous or just close my eyes sometimes and listen to the variety of sounds around you. Last but not least: Take extra money and less shoes …
Which thing should every backpacker carry with them? – Saying mobile phones isn’t allowed, be creative 😉
A backpacker needs a professional camera to swap happy memories with family and friends later. In addition take another memory card, you’ll need it.
Traveler tip: The Samsung NX300M is one of the best compact cameras for travel. You can also use the WiFi connection allowing you to share the photos directly to your smartphone. The camera looks vintage and easy to carry around.
Do you have any words of advice or inspiration for anyone undecided about travelling?
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.” – Mark Twain
Don’t waste time and start your own adventures! We are all connected by a love for travel – you’ll never be alone.
Traveler tip: For our honeymoon trip we bought a round-the-world-ticket from STAtravel for 1800. This organization also has special offers for young people or students with low budget.
